Well it is late March and Spring is definitely here! The weather has been warm and sunny. The daffodils are out and everywhere is looking bright green. We associate Spring with new life and new beginnings, with clearing out rubbish and getting our homes clean. In my last post I hinted at some new beginnings for my blog and today I have spent some lovely time in the sunshine reconnecting with nature and where I want the blog to go. While out in the garden I noticed lots of bees on the Grape Hyacinths that were flowering and as I had my iphone with me I decide to try to film some bees. Listening to and watching bees is always very relaxing, as is walking bare foot on the grass in the sunshine.
Here are a couple of clips that I filmed today. The first is of a Bee Fly and the second is a Bumble Bee.
I love seeing bees or hearing bees, the other year I wrote a post about the lovely Brigit Strawbridge and bees. For more about bees and other environmental issues check out Brigit’s Blog.
So to new beginnings, sometimes in life you go off track. Sometimes that is good, positive and leads you somewhere wonderful that you were meant to go. Sometimes it is not so good and takes you away from what you should be doing. Well I feel I have been on a detour for a while, that has got me thinking where I should be going in life and what I should be doing with my blog, with that in mind I am going to be posting more frequently. I am going to be going back to nature and green living for my inspiration. Hopefully there will be posts about wonderful places in Lincolnshire as well as fantastic green businesses and people in Lincolnshire and beyond. I want this blog to become an informative resource that inspires people to go green and have fun along the way.
Please leave comments to let me know how you think I am doing. Also if there is anything green that you would like to know about just post a comment and I will see what I can do.
Hi Jackie,
I think we all need a detour in life sometimes, it either shows us a better path or reaffirms that we were on the right one but just need to work harder at it. I feel like I have been on a detour since I have had my kids, I have learned over these few years that to just be happy in myself is such a powerful thing, especially for inspiring others. If you are happy on your own path, doing what you do then others are more inclined to want to try what you are doing and follow you.
I think you are doing great and I love your bee fly and bumble bee, I’ve been trying to plant bee friendly flowers in my garden this year and have been so excited about all that I have spotted so far.
Keep doing what you are doing,
Catherine x
Thank you for your kind words. Being happy and contented in yourself is a great life skill, and something I am still working on. I am going to right a post about what plants to grow for bees soon. Have a fantastic weekend.
